In 2023, I pledged to myself to shoot more for myself. Less worrying about capturing a specific genre and more focus on just enjoying the world around me as it happens.

Part of this change, photographically, was to get myself a camera system that was a little lighter...a little more mobile. I have found that increasingly over the years, I'm more likely to leave my camera at home rather than wear it around my neck because...well, effort. If you dread the weight and the hassle of photography, you're less likely to DO photography.

So I took the pledge and got a new camera system. A Fuji X-T5 system, coupled with my beloved Sigma lenses, that feels like it weighs less than a softball. It's tiny, elegant, and has helped make me love to just "go out and capture" again, often without purpose or any specific goal other than to be present and observe the world around me more closely.

A lot of these images wouldn't "do well" on social media, and I haven't shared many of them. They're little moments that don't scream "epic"...but I'm okay with that.
