The year that was.

2022.

Another year with a lot of, for lack of eloquence, weirdness. A continued pandemic. A fractured world. So much divisiveness. Hurt. Misunderstanding.

But, still, beauty. That ever-present and pervasive ingredient. It creeps in when we least expect it and sometimes when we aren't even looking for it. Sometimes we would seemingly choose "the dark" until it chips away at us and splits us wide open. The beauty comes pouring in, and with a sigh, we resign ourselves to the fact that sometimes--most times--it's better to surrender to the unavoidable.

There is a lot of inspiration out there. Moments of humanity and of light. Smiles and tears and the beauty of human emotion. Magnificent wildness and elegance in the curve of a rocky mass. A first look and a loved one. The golden warmth of the setting sun. Dew on a blade of grass, and the deep laughter of a realized joke. People, helping people. Songs. The poetry of falling water.

2022 was many things. Here are a few views of the year that was. One perspective out of billions upon billions.
